A free and heart-based neighborhood community near Luogosanto in Sardinia
The vision
A dream of a place. For several years we have been accompanied by this idea of a free and beautiful place of learning, genuine human interaction and meeting. A place where children and adults can relax and develop. Where people make their own wings and then practice flying with them. Where we can inspire and support each other. Where all our gifts and fascinations, already lived and still undiscovered, can come together, complement each other and fertilize each other. Where children can lecture adults. Where we speak in many languages and always find each other in the one language of the heart. Where no idea is too crazy not to be thought of. A place where things bloom in every way. Where we can eat fruit from the trees. Where we see friendships form and flourish. Where there is dancing and singing. Where people are welcomed as they really are. Where our masks are allowed to fall, where we make ourselves completely visible. A place where our feelings also have a home, where we can be more and more whole. A place where we ponder quantum physics at the age of five, perhaps proudly contemplate our first self-written word at thirteen, or paint our entire body with clay at 88. Just as it suits us. A place that glows in itself, that people seek out because of its glow and whose rays they themselves continue to multiply with their light.
Such a place, it seems to us, would be a true blessing for the people who animate it and, moreover, for our world. BARAKA means "blessing" in Arabic and sounds very similar in many other languages of this world. For the Sufis, its meaning is "essence" and "breath".

a culture of togetherness
What kind of breeding ground is needed to establish a culture of genuine togetherness and unconditional mutual respect? At BARAKA, a kind of free-spirited field based on love thrives. A social environment that explicitly invites people to live their own rhythm and follow their fascination; always respectful of fellow human beings, animals and the nature of the place.
We share a high willingness to meet honestly and to show ourselves to each other. With a regular circle and sharing culture we accompany and reflect our togetherness and are allowed to grow together and individually.
Towards the young people we cultivate a loving, appreciative approach. We are concerned about strong and authentic bonds between people of all ages and know about their power in our togetherness. We older people practice being present with the youngest people. These young people experience an emotionally stable, integral and loving interaction and can develop freely and in a held manner.
on Sardinia
BARAKA is now beginning its journey in Gallura in northern Sardinia, in the middle of cork oak forests near Luogosanto. In this area there are still many small and large plots of land, some with or without houses on them, that are for sale. Baraka will be created when international families, old and young people settle here. In this way, we are creating a field of close neighborly and friendly ties. So far, 3-4 families have already settled in the area and some have even already purchased land.
BARAKA will have as many meeting points and community places as there are people settling in the surrounding area. Perhaps there will be a dance and movement platform in one place, a house of silence in another, a children's meeting and play area there, and a large community garden here.
We are researching a new culture of togetherness, we meet and come together whenever we feel like it. People shape and design their individual places with their commitment and love, live in community and relate to each other in everyday life in order to support each other and grow together.
Each family creates its own home and retreat. This is a fundamental part of our vision: We live in a lovingly connected, local neighborhood with many vibrant centers. People find the flow that suits them best between family or personal retreat and community time.
