baraka family community experience
in Sardinia 25. - 31. May 2026

One week in community
We live one week together in community. We have sharing circles all together and later in the evenings only us parents. We will be cooking and eating together, singing and dancing, relaxing and being active outdoors. There will time for doing stuff together and a lot of time for relaxing and just being, learning from each other.
What it`s about
We want to bring a small group of maximum 6 families together. We will dive deeply into crucial family topics, questions and paths. With different communication techniques, we can deal with questions like: How can freelearning and homeschooling really work and be an enriching experience for each family member? What does it mean for a family to live abroad or to be permanently traveling? How to move towards a more simple and nature based lifestyle as a family? How can living in a community positively affect the well-being of a family system?

Activities
We want to create a beautiful flow together in our short term community. So it's all about the moment and the needs and wishes of each of us. There will be space and time for a lot of creativity and playfulness. We will paint, work with clay, do acrobatics and Yoga, sing, dance, cook, share, sit around the fire, explore the forests around, make a day-trip to the close-by ocean and so much more.
Venue - baraka community
Our week takes place on the beautiful land of the baraka community close to Luogosanto in north eastern Sardinia. It is a wild land with bizarre granite rocks and fields in the middle of endless forests, overseeing the mountains and the sea until the neighboring island of Corsica. Here we have an outdoor kitchen, outdoor showers and a lot of space and possibility to play and be together.

Practicals
The seminar costs are an all-inclusive fee of 1850 € per family. Included are the seminar facilitation, high quality and mostly regional and organic vegetarian food, simple accommodation in a caravan or bell-tent (you can of course also bring your own camper or tent, if you want).
The week will be multilingual as we will be an international group. In our experience, kids get along really well with each other, even if they don't share a language. We adults will be communicating in English.
about us
Jolanda, Brecht, Dax and Jep
Less stuff - more adVANtures! Jolanda Brecht Dax en Jep changed their house for a small old camper in the summer of 2024 and haven't stopped traveling since. Brecht and Jolanda already liked to travel individual and as a couple. They spent some years in Cambodia and cycled home to the Netherlands. As a family they had some experience of 3 and 6 months in the camper when they decided to leave again, this time with an open end. They travel slow and low impact. So far they have seen only small parts of southern Europe, the Balkan and Marokko, but had a huge amount af adventures, campfires, life lessons, and interesting meetings.
The joy in this lifestyle for them is in being together, in being active and being in nature. Either while hiking, rock climbing or doing acrobatics. And off course there is joy in being able to do all this in the time things take. To leave the clock and live in a natural time-frame.

Tzegha, Till, Luam and Amit
We are an eritran-german family with our two boys Luam (11) and Amit (10). Right from our first pregnancy in 2014 we were strongly drawn towards an alternative lifestyle as a family. The windy and beautiful road started off with home births. When Luam was not even a year old, we made our first community attempt in rural east Germany. Later on, we really wanted to learn and experience more. Live brought us all the way to Switzerland, where we lived for five years in the intentional community of Schloss Glarisegg with 60 people. That was an intense and beautiful learning time on our path. The kids grew and we became clear about wanting to let them learn free, without schools. In 2021 we made the step and moved to Sardinia with the vision to create a neighborhood community with like-minded families. Three years ago we were finally able to buy a beautiful piece of land and lay the first foundations of the baraka community. It's been growing and developing ever since and we are thrilled to invite you here.
